Anyone that has visited Nerja on a regular basis has most certainly experienced the lovely Playa Burriana Beach, which has seen many changes over the years. It all started as a quiet and secluded beach with just one or two restaurants but now it is home to many international restaurants, café bars, shops and leisure facilities.
As night falls and the cocktail hour begins, Playa Burriana Beach remains a hive of activity with the smartly dressed evening crowd filling the bars and restaurants. The beach itself is a safe sandy arc of a bay with plenty of sunbeds available, lots of toilets and showers and is very clean. It has been a regular recipient of the prestigious ‘Blue flag’ of excellence, awarded by the European Union, and the ‘Q for Quality’ flag issued by the Spanish authorities.
